Are you feeling creative?... An invitation to design a new club logo.

A big thank you to everyone who completed our club logo survey.

69% of survey participants said that the whole club consistently using the same logo is fairly (27%) or very (42%) important... so... we are going ahead with redesigning our logo, and would like to invite anyone with an idea for a new logo to submit a design.

Designs are welcome from anyone (of any age) interested - so feel free to share with any suitably interested/skilled/creative friends, family members or colleagues.

We ask that you consider the following guidelines:

  • Designs should be submitted on one A4 page, including your name and contact details. Your design doesn't have to be computer designed or professionally printed, a hand drawn sketch is fine if you prefer. If you have more than one idea, submit them all! We are looking at the idea rather than the presentation at this stage.
  • The logo will be used in all sorts of contexts - signage, letterhead, shirts, social media profiles etc - so needs to work in circular formats, at large scale and at small scale. Perhaps bear in mind that 51% of people in our survey think that a symbol rather than a picture would work best as a logo for our club.
  • Ideally your logo design shouldn't contain more than 3 colours. You might want to consider that according to our survey, colours currently most associated with the club are: Green (59%) Yellow (35%) Gold (23%) Blue (19%)
  • You can choose to incorporate our name into your design, or not. If you include the words and use (or want to recommend) a particular font, please note the name of the font. (Don't worry about font if you are sketching your design!)
  • And finally, most importantly, in thinking about the people the logo represents, our club charitable objective is ' community participation in sport' and in our survey, the top 4 words members used to describe the club are: ' sporting, friendly, welcoming and inclusive' . The 'audience' for our logo is the whole community - so a very broad range of people, who may know alot about the club, or nothing at all.

Designs should be submitted by Thursday 30th November, either by email to info@hythecsc.com or handed in at the bar in a sealed envelope marked FAO Rachel Gainsford.

We'll share a shortlist of designs in early December. Exciting!

Thank you for your support with this. If you have any questions or need more information, email info@hythecsc.com, message or call Rachel on 07952 671382.
