As you know, every year we host a young Aussie cricketer as the 'overseas player' in our 1st XI, who also supports junior cricket training and games. Until now they have lived in the caravan, usually along with an overseas cricketer playing for Saltwood.
However the caravan has deteriorated too much to be suitable, and this year our player is the only one at the Club. As a result, we are exploring the option of finding a host family/local lodgings for them. Our player is recruited through an agency, so signs a contract with the club, and has references and a criminal record check as part of the selection process.
If you - or anyone you know of - in Hythe (or within easy reach of the club on public transport) has a spare room and would consider hosting a young cricketer (usually aged between 18 and 25) between April and September, we'd be delighted to hear from you.
Depending on what is provided it is likely to be from £80-£125 per week.
