Dear Squash & Racketball members,
Myself and new member Rhys Taylor-Ryall are hoping to organise a Squash Team match at Woodfield Squash Club in Doncaster. (yes, DONCASTER)
Rhys has been playing there regularly whilst away with work and has forged good social links with the clubs owner and players.
Woodfield boast a premier league squash team that includes world number 19 Daryl Selby & world number 34 George Parker.
To play at this prestige club would be a great experience. HCSC can only benefit from forming a relationship with a club of this stature and there is already talk of a return leg.
They have proposed a Friday evening meet & greet, with some casual squash for those that want to play. The Team match would be played on the Saturday, followed by dinner & drinks.
They would field a competitive side for whoever and however many we decide to take, and hopefully provide some top level players for us to watch.
Due to the distance (225 miles / 4 hours), we are thinking of leaving on a Friday lunchtime and returning on the Sunday morning.
We are proposing Friday 4th May-Sunday 7th May which is the bank holiday weekend.
Accommodation & transportation method would depend on number of players... cars/minibus/coach etc
At present, we are just trying to gauge the level of interest.
Duration of trip, dates, etc are just our initial thoughts. No plans have been made yet.
