The club is hosting its inaugural PSA Satellite Tour event this weekend, which is a free event open to all who would like to watch and being a first there are a few considerations to note.
The mens draw alone is presently standing around 30, so the start time will be 09:00 on Saturday. Most of the players will be travelling some distance with an unknown entourage, which could see club parking at capacity at various points during the first day. Can anyone attending where-ever possible give consideration to walk, or cycle down at any given time to allow space at the club for competitors.
Anyone willing referees of the BL-NL, (Bill Lightfoot - No Let), club please make themselves known?! Generally the losing player marks the following match but this is not possible for at least one of the first matches on Saturday and there may be the odd exception during other rounds. On Sunday both the dual running semi-finals and the consecutive finals for each draw makes it impossible for players to mark, so they will definitely require referees.
Thanks to Tobie and her dedicated team the bar will be opening from midday to close of play for refreshments each day and a trial food menu supplied by 'Loaf' will also be available throughout the weekend.
Member attendance and support will make for a great social occasion and the usual willingness to give an extra helping hand at any given time would be highly appreciated. The event has been openly promoted to the wider community to try encourage new participants/non-members into the club and it's important any new faces are given a warm welcome and an insight to the game itself.
Final draws will be circulated prior but there will undoubtedly be some quality squash on offer with some talented future professional men and women players in attendance to showcase our sport.
