Morning all
I like to thank all members who came along and supported the club over the bank holiday weekend . A good time was had by all and apart from “ a few spots of rain “ on Saturday the weekend was a success.
There are one or two people I would like to give ( and deserve)special recognition to :
Firstly tobie , who spent nearly every waking hour at the club ensuring that everything ran smoothly , working behind the bar , cleaning in the mornings and dealing with any issues that may or may not have occurred. She is a credit to us all and we are very lucky to have her with us . Many thank to the girls who worked the bar also , they all worked very hard to keep up with demand and probably deserve a little bonus in there pay packets this week ( a chat with the treasurer I think ! ).
Secondly to Gary Blackburn who organised and ran the clubs first “ tournoi de boules “.
He also managed to run a raffle for demelza house at the same time and raised nearly £500 pounds in the process. Organising such an event is very time consuming but Gary pulled it off brilliantly and in doing so ensured that the patio area around the boules pit was buzzing and vibrant all weekend. Thank you Gary on behalf of us all , with members like yourself this club is in a great place right now and the futures looking bright.
Lastly , a word for the “ winner “ of the first “ tournoi de boules “.
Our very own Glynn “ the grinder “ goth who came from the depths of despair in the first round to rise to victory in the final.
Glynn is now open to challenges and happy to give lessons at a reasonable rate ??.
