We're on our way!!

The first few steps!!

The development working group met last Thursday with the specific aim of looking at the options for our club, it was a very productive session as twenty plus members with one aim came together.
The decisions at the agm to become an Incorporated charity and a licensed premise that can welcome in non-members enabled the group to agree that we should work towards being open all day and offer “The Café on the Canal” to raise our profile and generate an income. Following on from this it was also agreed that work was required to make the front of our property more welcoming. We will be speaking to the planning department to agree what will be permissible in our location, which is a Conservation Area adjacent to a National Monument. So watch this space!
We will also look to redevelop and expand the buildings as a hub for the community and regional sporting events. There was almost universal agreement as to siting and scope which has made it possible for us to proceed with producing the first concept drawings and plans.
The lack of marketing was a hot topic, some great ideas were floated that will no doubt be taken up by the new marketing team who will be on the case very soon.
But that’s not all. Social events will be back. (we have a chairman although he is not aware till now of his promotion) but we need a few more of you to get involved.
By the next meeting which will be held on Thursday 13th January @7.00pm there will be a skeleton business plan for discussion along with rebranding, updates on progress and much more.
The Extraordinary General Meeting is due to take place on Thursday 24th February when the group’s recommendations will be laid out for all.
Your opinion and help is needed, we need more of you to come forward to help with marketing and organising social events. So don’t be shy get involved it will be a lot of fun!!
