After months and months of discussion, debate and more debate, we received this email notification today from the Charity Commission:
'We are satisfied that HYTHE CRICKET & SQUASH CLUB is a charity, and it has been entered onto the Register of Charities with the Registered Charity Number 1204650.
The decision to register was based on our assessment of the information supplied during the application process and the declarations given in the trustee declaration form, and we are satisfied that HYTHE CRICKET & SQUASH CLUB is established for charitable purposes only for the public benefit'.
Thanks to Rachel Gainsford, Ken Pollock, Martin Cobb, and Andrew Chivers for their time and commitment to compiling our application.
In the next few months, we will transfer from our current CASC status to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).
It will be more fun and games in the weeks ahead!
