Hythe Cricket & Squash Club has been shortlisted in this years England Squash Awards for "Club of the Year"
This is a great achievement and shows the hard work that is put in by many people at the club. The following is the editorial relating to why the club has been shortlisted to win this prestigious award.
"Success in getting through COVID, raising funds to keep going and planning development with a view to add 2 squash courts to double the size of the squash facility.
- Running professional tournaments there which was a fantastic inspiration to members and especially juniors.
- Organising for ex England players to come for an exhibition match and coaching/playing members
- Hythe juniors form the largest part of East Kent Leagues to the point where they are now branching out to play in West Kent and Mid Kent Leagues to vary their opponents. Adult membership and the club have been fantastically supportive of juniors, giving them access to free courts off peak and facilitating coaching/access to courts for juniors.
- The cricket volunteers have played a major part in the fundraising which the whole club has benefitted from.
The social side of the club is very strong and innovative and looking to develop facilities."
