Thank you, it's a simple word, but I will repeat it to the many who came to the most productive AGM I have attended. THANK YOU
(We had over 40 members attend).
On Thursday evening, the members chose to change our club to an Incorporated Charitable Organisation.
They voted to open the bar to non-members officially.
Agreed to a Financial Budget for 21/22.
Agreed to raise an additional Funding requirement of £20,000.
Most importantly, we agreed to set up a working party to research and compile a five-year plan that will be voted upon by all members by the end of February next year.
We will be drawing from the experience and knowledge of our membership and seeking expert opinions from elsewhere. We will need constructive input from everyone, so if you have an idea that will improve the club and/or attract new members let us know by email, it will be read, and we will respond.
I plan to have the first working group meeting on Thursday 16th December at 7 pm. So please mark it in your diary NOW.
Returning to the AGM, those who attended were enthusiastic and optimistic about our future, with all our sports having a positive story to tell, and the bank balance is not too bad either. So, yes, I accept that it did last a while, but we provided pizza so that no one expired from hunger!
Next year will be an exciting time for us, so watch this space, and use the words of D-ream "Things can only get better." (You can sing it if you want to).
