Security Incident on Sunday

Dear Squash Players

We need to make you aware of a serious security incident that occurred on Sunday evening. CCTV shows 4 player entering the club for a game without court bookings. They left the front door open on their way out, leaving the club unsecured all night.

If there'd been a break in, our insurance would have been invalid. If there'd been a fire, we'd be completely unaware of anyone in the building. By not paying for their booking they breached the Club Code of Conduct.

Incidents like this have been increasing over the past few months, so the club front door will be locked down in the evenings (ie no fob access) as soon as final bookings are complete and bar staff leave the building.

Thank you to the vast majority of players who book courts and look after our premises properly. It's not fair that a few people don't bother and treat the club with such disrespect. If you see incidents of this, have a chat with those involved to remind them of their responsibilities as members. Or let us know and we'll have the chat!

Breach of our Club Code of Conduct can result in membership being removed.

Sorry to start the week with this, and big thank you to everyone who enjoys a game, shuts the front door, and looks after our club properly.
