Folkestone & Hythe District Council’s online community directory Spotlight, spotlight-folkestone-hythe.org.uk/, lists some amazing community groups and activities available across our district.
As part of the council’s efforts to support our community during the Coronavirus lockdown, we have added a new Spotlight category called Virtual Activities.
Update your listing
If you are involved in a group or activity that is already listed on Spotlight and are able to offer your activities virtually, I invite you to add your Listing to the new Virtual category.
Here’s how
Simply navigate to your existing listing and click the Improve This Listing button.
Then tick the Virtual Activities box and if necessary, amend the description to reflect any changes to how you are currently operating.
When people at home are looking for activities or services or support that are still available to them, they can easily find you by selecting this category.
Some examples of virtual activities include:
· choirs who are now practicing together on Zoom
· flower arranging,
· cookery demonstrations and
· exercise classes via YouTube
· art groups working on projects together and sharing on Facebook
· telephone support and advice for people with health conditions
· history groups and other special interest clubs meeting virtually
· churches and youth groups offering access to activities and support
If you are involved in a community group or activity that isn’t listed on Spotlight and can offer virtual activities or support, please join the Spotlight community and let people know. Get Listed today by completing the short form (don’t forget to select Virtual Activities category if applicable) at spotlight-folkestone-hythe.org.uk/get-listed
